EVGA Rebate Scam Program review

2009-04-06 I purchased an EVGA video card from Fry's Electronics. Model e-GeForce GTS 250. Part number 512P31151TR.

I was issued a rebate receipt from Fry's Electronics

Downloaded and filled out rebate form

Sent photographic copy of UPC. In the envelope I sent a letter stating that I will not cut the barcode off my box. If you send the original UPC, there is no recourse should the rebate become lost in the mail. No rebate is worth risking your flesh with a utility knife to get the UPC label. I am also in the habit saving all packing in like new condition. You never know when you need to send something back or if you are going to sell it later.

2009-07-09 Checked rebate status. This is copied from website.

Rebate Declined. 2009-07-12 Sent an email to EVGA support asking for a second chance to honor their rebate.

Rebate Declined again. It won't take very long for someone to enter "EVGA Rebate scam" in their favorite search engine to find my little review here and reconsider their purchase of EVGA Corporation products. Congradulations EVGA Corporation for finding an actuary who could create a rebate program to stack the statistics in your favor for maximum profit at an acceptable loss of customer loyalty. I'll be watching my web logs.
